Brush washing time!

Wouldn't it be great if you didn't have to wash makeup brushes? We can all dream but it's something that essential if you don't want bacteria filled brushes! I have seen a few different ways of doing it but this is how I do it so here we go;

So I take a blob of baby shampoo on to my hand ( the bigger the brush the bigger the blob of shampoo) and start to rub the brush in small circles until the shampoo foams up. The shampoo will change colour depending on what brush it is but that good cause that means its getting clean. Once the shampoo has foamed up as much as it can rinse it under warm water squeezing all of the shampoo out. If the brush is still a bit dirty clean it again until you are happy with it. I tend to do this with all of my face brushes to make sure they are super clean! Then leave them on a towel overnight to dry. If you need them dryer quicker then get out your hair dryer and dry them that way! I find they are softer leaving then to dry them on there on but if you don't have time the other way works as well.

So that's how I dry my brushes. Remember you should try and dry your brushes once a week I think it is. Really though who actually does that? Not me any way, well ill try and get better! Any other suggestions in how to clean my brushes?

Maybelline The Rocket

I absolutely love mascara! When I saw that maybelline have brung out a new one I was right on it. The bright blue metallic packaging may put some people off but it's what inside that counts.

The wand is quite big but the plastic bristles are quite small so it doesn't clump at all! Wen apply to the lashes it lengthens them but you can definitely get volume from this mascara! Day to day though I just like to lengthen my lashes. It stays on all day and doesn't flake off!. I also use it on my bottom lashes without a problem. I find with some mascaras you get panda eyes by the need of the day but with this mascara you don't have to worry about it.

A great all rounder, it lengthens, gives volume and doesn't flake! You can get this from boots, super drug or any place that sells maybelline! It is about £7.99 but you can often find it in a 3 for 2 or on offer. I really recommend that you give this ago! Lets see what I try out next...

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer

I seem to be getting more and more obsessed with bronzers by the day! I have heard about this one lots on YouTube and have been wanting to try it. The only problem with that is you can only get it in the states (not sure about other countries). I was in poundworld just looking and I saw it! so of course I picked it up.

It is a matt brown Bronzer which isn't too orange or muddy so it is a great colour. It goes on smoothly and is very easy to blend. It is pigmented even so you don't need a lot but it isn't to pigmented so you don't have to worry about it not being blended as much as some bronzers.

If you can I really recommend trying to get it. I picked it up from poundworld so it was only a £1 and in the US I think it's around $2-3. a very cheap but good buy! Any other good bronzers out there I should try?

Essie Fiji

When I was in Inverness a couple of days ago shopping with my mum in boots what was there? An Essie stand! I have wanted to try Essie for a while but the stand's haven't appeared at my local Boots/Superdrug. I was going to order this online a couple of days ago but glad I didn't.

Fiji is a creamy, white based, pastel pink. It looks sleek on the nails but it still has a summery vibe to it.Two coats of this and you are ready to go, which is good as with most other white or nude polishes tend to be quite sheer but not this one!. I also think that this would be nice instead of having a white tip on a French manicure, having a pinky white tip.

You can pick this up from most Boots/Superdrug (not mine though, grr...) for £7.99. I will honestly say that I think this is my favourite nail polish ever! I think a little Essie package will be coming through my door after doing some damage! What are your favourite Essie colours or is there any other brands that I should check out?

July Favourites!

So I haven't got a lot of favourites for this month but the ones that I do have are truly real favourites.

  • Body Shop Duo Body Butter - Sweat Pea - It has two different formula's one for normal skin and one for dry (which I use on elbows, knees etc..). I smells amazing and the scent lasts a fairly decent amount of time too.
  • Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion - This is a sample that I got when I bought my Chubby Stick and absolutely love it! I have been using this morning and night as it is super moisturising but feels so light on the skin.
  • Bare Minerals Original SPF15 Foundation - Fairly Light - My favourite foundation, hands down! It makes you look flawless and is buildable I have a full review on it here!
  • Mac Creemsheen Lipstick - Creamcup -  A natural pink lip is what I have been reaching for most this month. It is really moisturising and lasts a good 2 - 3 hours on the lips.
  • Natural Collection Blush - Pink Cloud - I have used this at least 20 out of the 31 days this month. It gives a natural flush of colour to the cheeks, which can be put on lightly or builded up for a stronger colour.
I have really enjoyed using these products this month. I got a few new things at the end of the month so hopefully next months favourites will be different. What products have you loved this month?

Glossybox: July 2012

Glossybox - £10.00 + £2.95 P+P

I was really impressed with this months box! This box is meant to be there festival box. In my box there is 4 skincare products which I like one makeup and a perfume sample which I don't like but anyway the other products made up for it.

  • Bex London - London Urban Fragrance in W1X - I don't like this fragrance as I think it smells kind of like aftershave, but everyone is different so some people might like it.
  • Paul Mitchell - Awapuhi Moisture Mist - This is a multipurpose moisture spray. You can use it on your hair and skin. I have been using it on my skin to cool me down and give a little bit of moisture to the ends of my hair.
  • Monu - Eye Cool Gel - I have tried this a couple of times in the morning and it is really awakening and tones down my dark circles. I really like this, probably my favourite thing out of the box.
  • Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Frosting - Irish Cream Pavlova - A multifunctional cream gloss. You can use it on you lips or cheeks. A tint of colour on the lips or a glow on the cheeks. I haven't used this much yet.
  • Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - Dry Oil - I am very excited to try this. It is a multipurpose dry oil for face, body and hair. I'm not sure how to use it so I will be testing it out soon and letting you know how I get on with it. (Love the cute little glass bottle!)
        Extra product,
  • Elizabeth Arden - Visible Difference Hydrating Line - Three sachets, one of the cleanser, one of the serum and one of the moisturiser. Haven't tried it yet but looking forward to.
I am very pleased with this box. There are a lot of things that I wouldn't buy my self, which is the point of these beauty boxes to try new things. I will definitely be getting next months box.

Mac: Groundwork Paint Pot

My first Mac Paint Pot purchase might be a little different to most peoples as you would normally buy Rubenesque or Painterly but when I started to look at them I fell in love with this one, Groundwork. It a natural brown colour which leaves the eyes with just a hint of something. It isn't completely matt so it is kind of like a satin finish. You don't need a lot so it will defiantly last a while. It stays on about a good 5 - 6 hours without creasing but then it is just downhill from there. It doesn't bother me to much I will just apply my favourite eyelid primer ( bareMinerals Prime Time original) before I put on the paint pot. Or if you don't want to apply a primer you could just set it with a shadow.

I love the packaging, a little glass jar and a plastic lid! The sound it makes when it shuts... I could just listen to that all day! It is very pigmented so you don't have to use a lot and it blends out like a dream! At £14.50 I think it is worth it. Some people say that the Maybelline Colour Tattoos are dupes but they crease on me within the hour, so I don't think so. You can pick it up from most Mac counters, Mac stores and online. What ones would you recommend?

Bare Minerals Foundation Review

Hey guys, how are you?
Today I am going to be reviewing the Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation!

I was in town about just over a month ago and went to the bareMinerals counter and asked for a sample of the foundation. She was so nice she sat me up on her seat and colour matched me to the colour  - fairly light. I went off home with the sample to try the next day. I woke up and was excited to try it out well, it was like a match made in heaven! It evened out my skin and made it look flawless! I went into town the next week and bought the full size!

It leaves a lovely finish on the skin not like normal powdered foundations. It managed to make my face still glowy but not to much at the same time. It feels like just another layer of skin not a heavy layer of foundation. It says that it is clinically proven to improve the appearance of your skin over time. I think this will be a long term thing not something that will happen over one month but who knows I will have to get back to you on that one. It also says that it looks like a powder but feels like a cream, I completely agree with this it feels so creamy when you are buffing it in to the skin. Oh and just to note, to apply this I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush which is part of the Core Collection which you can pick up from boots!
It stays on the whole day ( a good 8 - 10 hours normally) without a primer. It is light-weight, easy to blend and a light - medium coverage which is buildable. I divide my face into 4 sections - right cheek, left cheek and forehead and the rest. I tend to start around my cheeks and nose as that is where I need the most coverage and then blend out.

I would recommend this foundation. Just to note I have normal - dry skin so I am not sure how this would work for oily skin but you can  get a matt version but I haven't tried it. You can pick this up from most department stores for £24 but I got mine from John Lewis.

What foundations have you been loving recently?

A little splurge...

Hey guys, How are you?

Sorry it's been a while I haven't been feeling very good, what a great way to start my summer holidays? So to try and perk myself up a bit I done a little bit of retail therapy! I have been saving for a while to get these things so I just thought, what the heck and bought them!

Yes I bought a Clinique Chubby Stick, Bare Minerals Foundation and a Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter.

I got the Clinique Chubby Stick in the colour 14 Curvy Candy. I is a lovely bright pink but a bit muted at the same time, it is also darker than a hot pink. I really like it! It is really glossy and moisturising on the lips. A full review will be coming up soon. I picked it up from Boots for £16.
A couple of weeks ago I got a sample of the Bare Minerals foundation and fell in love. It leaves my skin looking flawless, again a full review will be up soon. I am in the shade fairly light which is the second lightest. To be honest I was quite happy that I wasn't the lightest shade! It was £24 and I picked it up from John Lewis.
The Clarins counter was my last stop! I picked up the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter in the shade 02, the peachy one. I have now found my new favourite lip gloss! I'm not a big lip gloss girl but I will get onto more why I like it in a review that should be coming up soon. Again I picked this up from Boots for £16.

I am thrilled with all of these purchase and have been enjoying using them the last couple of days. Full reviews will be coming in up on them soon! What products have you bought recently?

Quick update...

Hi guys, hope that you are all ok:)

Sorry I haven't been blogging over the last month. A lot of things have just been happening in my life recently.

I am going to be back to blogging more regularly now as I got into quite a good routine so hopeful I will get back onto that routine again.

Ahh... last week of school then...... SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!
I can't wait! I haven't really got anything planned but with more time on my hands and being out of school that will give me more time to blog and review/test more products that I have bought recently.

Anyway enough rambling I'm going to go now and write some proper blog posts. Oh also I think that I am going to do Louise's ( sprinkle of glitter )LOTD's as they seem quite fun.

Right that is me away this time. Oh wait a minute another thing. Ha, I had you fooled then, you thought that I was going to start rambling again!

Hope you have a good week and I will talk to you later!
